SpaceX is developing the largest rocket called Falcon Heavy

Space Exploration Technology (SpaceX) is developing the largest rocket . The rocket is capable of carrying cargo with a capacity of two times larger than NASA's space shuttle and the cost is cheaper.

SpaceX's latest rocket called Falcon Heavy. The rocket is a development from previous rocket called Falcon 9, the rockets that have been done two times and purchased by NASA to launch cargo flights to the International Space Station after the shuttle program completed this year.

Heavy Falcon has advantages because it can carry a payload of 53,071 kg, twice the cargo space shuttle that only 22 680 kg. At a cost of 80 million-125 million dollars per launch, the cost of the use of this rocket 1 / 10 of the shuttle which cost around 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said, "The rocket has a higher capability than all vehicles, except the Saturn V. This opens the possibility for government and commercial space missions, which until now not supported by existing capacity."

Heavy Falcon is designed as a cargo plane. However, due to meet the safety requirements of NASA, the rocket could be used to carry humans. Not only to orbit the earth, Falcon Heavy claimed humans can also deliver on a mission to the moon, Mars, and asteroids.

Indonesia plans to have 180 Sukhois in 10 squadrons

Indonesia plans to have 180 Sukhois in 10 squadrons. Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro has said that his ministry plans to have 180 Sukhois by developing 10 squadrons, to guard the country.

"To defend our country`s sovereignty, we have set a target to have 180 Sukhoi jet fighters by developing 10 squadrons," Minister Purnomo, who was accompanied Chief of the Air Force Marshall Imam Sufaat, said here Monday.Each squadron will have 18 Sukhois, he said.

The defense ministry in its strategic working plan has also to buy F-16 Fighting Falcons to replace Australia-made Hawks.

Indonesia is expected to acquire 180 Sukhois by 2024, Russia has expressed its readiness to supply as many Sukhois as Indonesia needs, he said.

In 2003, Indonesia purchased two Sukhois of the SU-30 MK type and two of the SU-27SK type. Later, the Defense Ministry bought six Sukhois in 2007 worth US$300 million, or Rp2.85 trillion.

Garuda has placed an order for six new Airbus aircraft

 Garuda Indonesia is the national airline of Indonesia. It is a full-service network carrier and serves 28 domestic and 18 international destinations. The airline’s main hubs in Indonesia are located in Jakarta and Denpasar. In July 2009, the airline unveiled a new aircraft fleet, new in-flight product, new service concept and a fresh corporate identity to mark the start of its transformation into one of Asia’s successful and profitable airlines. Garuda Indonesia received its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification in May 2008, recognizing that the airline is fully compliant with global best-practise standards for flight operations, aircraft maintenance and safety management system. In December 2009, the airline was also upgraded to a four-star rating by Skytrax, the global benchmark for airline service standards, confirming the improvement in its front-line product and service quality.

National carrier, Garuda Indonesia has placed an order with Airbus Industries for six A330-200 wide-body jets in a deal valued at US$1.15 billion.

Garuda Indonesia enters into new partnership with MCAP

Indonesia’s national airline, Garuda Indonesia took deliveries of three Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft under a sale and leaseback agreement with MC Aviation Partners (MCAP), the aircraft leasing and trading arm of Mitsubishi Corporation.

Garuda Indonesia currently has in order a total of 50 boeing 737-800NGs from Boeing. To support its network expansion Garuda Indonesia will be receiving 24 aircrafts this year including 23 Boeing 737-800NG and one A330-200.

“The new aircraft will be used on domestic and regional routes and supports our five-year ‘Quantum Leap” expansion strategy. We plan to increase the number of domestic departures by double to 2,072 per week and international departures more than threefold to 1,222 a week by 2010,” said Emirsyah Satar, President & CEO Garuda Indonesia.

Garuda Indonesia also plans to almost double its current fleet of 71 aircraft to 116 aircraft by 2014 based mainly on Boeing 737-800NGs and Airbus A330-200s/300s, which are operated on medium and long haul routes.
